Mix with Contadina Tomato Paste to Make Pizza Sauce!
The other day I mixed this tomato sauce with a can of Contadina tomato paste plus a little Italian herb seasoning and freshly ground black peppercorns to make a nice pizza sauce. I then put the sauce on hoagie roll halves and topped them with mozzarella cheese and little slices of pepperoni. I baked them for 14 minutes at 425 degrees and they were perfect. The next time I made pita pizzas my husband said he wished I’d made the hoagie roll pizzas because he loved them so much. So I’m going to buy more hoagie rolls and pepperoni in the future! It is nice to have a few cans of this on hand for anytime you want to make pizza. You could also use these to thin out spaghetti sauce or to use in any recipe calling for tomato sauce. It is a reliable brand with great flavor. I’m a fan!~The Rebecca ReviewP.S. I added in dried onions, garlic powder, oregano, Italian herbs, ground peppercorns and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Delicious!
